OUR MISSION

To hatch curiosity in the minds of our youth

One of the greatest gifts I was able to give my children in life was growing up on the farm. There is no better way to learn about the evolution of life and the responsibility of caring for someone other than yourself. Our family has been hatching eggs for decades. I have no greater joy then to share my love of farming with young, inquiring minds.

Hatching a Plan

How does the program work?

Eggs-perience the wonders of hatching in a classroom setting. Start by choosing the species and date you would like to hatch. The equipment will be delivered and set up with full explanation of everything you need to know about the process. The incubators are digital and fully automated for ease of the experience. Educational material includes developmental charts and written details of what is happening as the egg develops.

After the eggs hatch, they can be kept in the classroom for remainder of the allotted time in the brooder box. The hatchlings can be purchased or returned to the farm.

If at any time you feel like a frazzled hen, don’t panic! Support is available throughout the entire process.

How long does the egg-perience last?

It takes 21 days to grow a chick in the egg. Ducklings need an extra week, they take 28 days. The hatching process can seem a little slow from the time the egg pips until the chick emerges from their shell. It all depends on how eager they are to meet the world. In the next 12-24 hours they are fluffy and ready to move into the brooder box.

Students can observe the chicks or ducklings mature for up to a week in the brooder box.
